Location: the hotel was just off restaurant ok, the Rhine in August 2011 and the highlights of the region. The place had an exclusive atmosphere.

It was a good stay, good modern and 1st class place. We got nicely furnished superior double room with balcony as an upgrade, nice gesture. The location of the hotel was convenient and perfect, hard to park when they have conferences running...

We stayed a superior double room, which was beautiful and modernized. And the hotel staff kindly prepared an extra bed for our son. We loved the buffet style breakfast, which provided a variety of dishes. And there is a swimming pool and sauna facility, we enjoyed it.

I was there for a wedding, and it was very well set up for group and corporate events. There was an efficiency and sense that thee large scale things were very well organised. The conference/ banquet rooms were excellent and the spa facilities downstairs were great. The pool was small but very relaxing- more for a splash around than a swim. The first room we stayed in was very good - room 188. I think it was called a superior room but in a good location very quiet and well laid out.
This was definitely better on the large scale than the small. In our party there were a number of stories of a lack of attention to detail in service that I guess comes from dealing with large numbers of people. Our booking was twice written down incorrectly and we felt that the reception staff were often too busy to really listen. The bikes that we borrowed had not been maintained and there was no correct pump in the garage, and again this seemed like too small a detail for the staff to bother with. In short, definitely a place that is worth visiting, but I feel that with a little more training on customer care or maybe taking in fewer people at one time the experience would be greatly improved. For a business conference though- probably a great hotel.

Business conference ready
The staff were efficient and attentive, particularly the bar gentleman who seemed genuinely happy and engaged. The junior suite was expansive and clean, and the open bathroom added a bit of flair to the overall experience.
It wasn't inexpensive but still within acceptable limits.

I had just finished an overnight bus ride to Frankfurt and had one day before flying back to Canada. The staff spoke very good English (as well as other languages, but I needed English) and let me check in early. This was the perfect place to stay and re-cooperate. The hotel has a lovely "Wellness Centre" which includes hot/cold therapy steam room, sauna, swimming pool and other things. They are a 15 minute bus ride away from the main sights of Mainz (very easy to reach) and are surrounded by orchards. You can borrow a bicycle and ride around the country- side, which I highly recommend. My stay here helped me feel ready for my 10 hour flight home.
It was a little far from the downtown area and if you like to be within walking distance of the sights, this isn't the place for you. If you don't mind a bus ride and enjoy having the opportunity to be out in the country-side where it's quiet, then you will like this place.

The hotel had beautiful facilites, an excellent breakfast and very attractive, comfortable rooms. It was a little bit out of the city center but it was worth it.
